Staff Testimonial

I have worked at barracudas for five years now and have moved up roles from being a lifeguard to group coordinator to early years manager. Barracudas is just good fun, you get to work with great, like-minded people and help children have an exciting day. Also, I do like that there's opportunities to grow in the roles on camp. I started when I was 18 and I had developed my skills and this has been recognised by management, giving me the opportunity to progress. Working at barracudas has given me great experience and helped me so much while I was training to be a primary school teacher and once I had qualified. You learn so much from other staff across camp, that you become an expert in creating exciting and fun activities. At times I have been inspired. I would recommend barracudas to anyone with/wanting experience with children and who is willing to work hard. The people that work the hardest get the most out of the experience. It genuinely is a fun job and you meet really good friends.

Camp Staff Working Hours

Recently, Barracudas reviewed both staff and parent feedback forms to create new ways to make our service even better! As a result, the decision has been made to reconsider staff hours, making sure camps are run as efficiently as possible!

Red Shirts:

For all general staff, shifts will no longer be rotated as in previous years. Instead, staff hours will remain constant throughout the season and will be dependent on individual job roles. Therefore, working hours will operate as follows:

Lifeguards, Fencing Instructors and Multi Activity Instructors will work:

8.30am-5.00pm.

For all general staff, working hours will be:

8.30am-5.30pm.

Staff who work on a 1 to 1 basis will work:

8.30am-5.30pm.*

Any general staff that work Early/Late Clubs will still be paid £5.25 per session, so if you would like to work these clubs please inform your senior team at induction training. There must be a minimum of 2 First Aid trained staff at these clubs at all times.

*If the child being supported is booked into Early or Late club, working hours will be extended and additional pay will be provided.

Blue Shirts:

Due to a restructuring of the senior team, working hours have been adapted to ensure that at least 2 Managers are always on site during operating hours, allowing further support to the camp team. Hours are as follows:

Camp and Early Years Managers will work:

8am-6pm

Assistant Managers will work:

8:30am-6pm

Senior Sports Instructors will work:

7:30am-5pm

Camp Administrators will work:

8:30am -5:30pm
